Bentley
Nobody is now somebody...and his name is Bentley! He is my baby. Someone's loss was definitely my gain!
Bentley is a very smart dog...he found every way possible to get out of the yard at first. Once he finally learned
that I would not give up on him, he started staying in the yard (after building a privacy fence, putting landscape
timbers all the way around the bottom of the fence, putting locks on the gate, and putting a metal pole in the
ground to hold the gate closed. He loves running around the yard, chasing birds, going on walks, and going to
doggie day care to play with the other dogs....but most of all he LOVES people and can not get enough of them.
He has been through obedience training (although he obeys commands on his own time) and will maybe
someday be a therapy dog because he loves people so much. Although people are sometimes scared of him
because of his wolf-like features, he is quickly able to awe them and put them at ease. He can be very stubborn
at times...just like me. I think I have found my match! :)

Ellie Mae(Jody) and Morley (Oliver)
Dear Stacy,
I just thought you would like to see a recent photo of my beautiful, wonderful, etc. dogs. They are special to us.
Morley (Oliver) has brought such joy to our 11 year old rat terrier, Scully. After we got our wiemaraner over 5
years ago, she would never allow Scully to play. Scully seemed to be so unhappy and even depressed, ever
after Toulie was gone and Ellie Mae moved in. But since Morley joined our family Scully is a different dog. She
and Morley play for hours, chasing each other rolling, tumbling, and just doing things little dogs should do
together. There is total harmony in our home.
Thank you Stacy for doing what you do and making such loving creatures out of the dogs you rescue. There will
be a special place in heaven for you. If every dog that is adopted from you brings half as much joy as ours do to
us, than you should feel very proud. All your hard, hard work is so worth it.
Pat

Hello, and thanks so much again for helping us adopt Tiger, he is one little trouble maker but he is so lovable. I
thought you might like to see how much he has changed.
I don't think he should get any bigger and he weighs just about 19 lbs. Isn't he the just too cute for a male even
if he was having a bad hair day! He is definitely the master of the house!
Take care and thanks again... Judy
Tiger

As you know I had kind of a rocky start with running loose and going through the heartworm treatments. I'm so
grateful to those who took me in and got me through that ordeal, and gave me a second chance to find a real
"home" with my loving "humans." I've heard them talking and they say I'm such a good girl that those who
took such good care of me sure did give me great manners and they appreciate that very much.
You brought me to what was to be my "permanent" home just over a year ago, and I'm happy that I've officially
been adopted for almost as long. I'm happy......healthy.......safe........and most importantly LOVED more than you
could possibly know! My humans say they couldn't have gone out looking for a pet that is more suited to their
life than I am!! They love me unconditionally and I can honestly tell you they have never had to utter those
dreaded words "you are naughty" or "bad dog"......they say that I am PERFECT!! Awesome, huh?? They are so
proud of me that I'm so mild mannered, that I don't chew or dig or bark.....unless I'm letting them know when
someone....or something...is coming into the yard.
They love me so much that when they had to go to Iowa and Nebraska in April, 2008 they wouldn't leave behind
to stay in a kennel.....they searched for a motel that would let me stay there, too, and took me with them!! It
was great fun and I was such a good "traveling girl." We can't wait to go again!!
I'm sending pictures of me and my good buddy "Bear"......he came all the way from Colorado to spend a few
days with us. I had all of these stuffed toys but didn't know what to do with them, but Bear taught me how
much fun it is to toss them up in the air.....to make them squeak....and to drag them ALL out on the floor!! I'm
having a little trouble remembering to put them back, but my Female Human says that's OK and she'll do it for
me! How LOVED is that??
My Male Human is my good buddy......we're together all day and he's so good to me. I have the run of the back
yard and we go together to get the newspaper and the mail. Yeah....I get lots of walks and pretty much have
the "run" of the house!! In a GOOD way, of course.
So, Stacie, life for me and my Humans is VERY good!! We are all happy and we don't know what we would do
without each other. I'm so thrilled that my "foster" humans turned out to be my real humans in every way. They
say I have been a blessing to them as I came to them when they had just lost their beloved little Cocker
Spaniel. Isn't it wonderful how these things happen?? I'm so lucky to have had you to pick me for them, and
they feel even luckier!!
Well, guess I'd better go for now. So many deer to watch....squirrels to chase and naps to take out on the deck.
Stacie, you take care of yourself and I know you'll take care of all the other dogs in your care. They are truly
blessed to have you looking out for them. I know you will find every one of them a good home just like you
found one for me. Please don't worry about me.......I'm living the great life with two humans that love me and
will ALWAYS take good care of me!!
Stop out to see me......and I'll try to catch you at Petco one of these days!!
Love Always...........Hammie

Chloie
I'm sorry its taken me so long to get get in touch with you and let you know how Chloie is doing. Chloie is great.
She gets along with the other dogs and is spoiled rotten. We were at my parent's house most of the summer, and
she would go for a swim in the pond every morning and come back in the house to sleep the rest of the day. She
loves her couch and recliner. She's sitting on the couch right now "helping" me write this email. I just wanted to
let you know that she's doing great, and I've
attached some pictures of her.
Thanks again,
Sonya
Sandie

May 9, 2007, our family’s beloved pet poodle of 12 years lost his battle with kidney failure. Grieving, and knowing he
could never be replaced in our hearts, I had decided not to look for another pet. Later that month, I went to Petco to
look for a carrier for my husband’s cat to transport him to the kennel while we were on vacation. However, my husband
and daughter both ditched me at the front door and went to look at the pets up for adoption. I came back with the
carrier to find a tiny puppy in their arms and looks of delight on all of their faces. When I said I wasn’t going to adopt a
puppy to place it in a kennel for 10 days while we were on vacation, the foster mom said she would keep the puppy for
us while we were gone if we were interested and passed the adoption process. Mary Ann went to our house for the
inspection and spent the time to make sure that Sandy would fit in our family. We made arrangements to pick Sandie
up on our way home from Galveston later in June and took a picture of the newest member of our family! That picture
went with us on vacation. Mary Ann went out of her way to care for Sandie and has our heartfelt gratitude for helping
Sandie find her very own forever home. Sandie has her own place in our hearts now and my daughter tells everyone
Sandie is her little sister. She loves to play and snuggle under the blankets. She has a wardrobe of sweaters to keep
her warm, laps to sit on, a warm bed that she shares with us, lots of toys to entertain her and our unconditional love.
Thank you Homeward Bound K9’s for rescuing her and allowing us to adopt her.

Tink-a-bella
Stacy and crew,
I was just reading the stories posted on line and found the we are not alone in our puppy experience. All I can say is
what a joy our Tink has been. Long gone is our shy and retiring "southern belle". She's now the loudest one in our
motley crew. Almost two years ago my husband and I experienced a terrific loss when our little Chi-weenie was killed
out in front of our house. When ready, I got on line and found our little Tink-a-bella. We headed down to AR from NE
and was she ever worth the trip! She has brought so much joy and healing into our lives. (We did get her a little
brother, which she torments to death.) Tink as quite the traveler, she was born in MO, we got her in AR, back to NE
and now in CO. She actually hates the car and will throw up if you don't coddle her!
Thank you all for your dedication and hard work, please thank "Sugar Bear's" foster mom for us. You all are God sent!
